~The bags will be clean, but not ironed. To make them look like the picture, simply cut strings and iron.

ABOUT HAND PAINTED...What's the difference from screen printing? It is "one" with the fabric. No shiny, sticky or coating on top that may possibly peel or crack at a later date. The paint I use penetrates the fabric, and the art will last FAR longer than the bag ever will!! Absolutely no cracking or peeling - ever! I often recommend when the bag wears out (sorry, but as great as my bags are they will eventually wear out. Life happens!) simply cut out the art and apply/stitch/glue to another bag! The art is FOREVER! Paint is awesome! Absolutely hand washable, it will not affect the art!

PLEEEEASE!!! Check measurements of the bags in the listings to ensure it's the size bag you want or need!! If you have a question, please ask. I have included bag size/measurements with each listing for your information.

HAND PAINTED! Awww yeah! I am so proud and pleased to offer ONLY hand painted and genuine vintage bags. It fits so well with the Handmade and vintage venue that IS Etsy. Are there quicker, less expensive ways to reproduce an image? Of course! And I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t checked them out. BUT…I always come back to Hand Painted. Granted it does take more time, therefore a few more $ than other methods, but one can be proud to say, “Hey, it’s hand painted.” It’s so very, very cool.


PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE check dimensions/size of the bags! They are described in each listing. Grab a ruler or measuring tape to ensure your things will fit and it's the right size bag for you. Measure a current bag that you have to see if it's similar in size. You can also cut a piece of paper to get an idea of the size.

NOTE: The US Postal Service has had a price increase each year it seems ;-( But it's still a small price to pay to get your hands on one of these awesome bags and have it delivered right to your door!

ABOUT VINTAGE MILITARY...Seriously, one day here, the next day not. I try my best to keep up, but often I am more surprised than you that I cannot get a bag. I search long and hard, and then work long and hard to clean and make these bags something I would want to carry. With each and every one, I would not hesitate to put a baby’s diaper in it! But also, please do not hesitate to order as I really have no idea how long I will be able to get them. Today my supply may be good, tomorrow – nothing. It’s a very strange, but exciting, business! Please do not hesitate to ask questions!

Colors & Shades - As they are vintage military and each one is different, there may be slight variations in colors and shading. Keep in monitor colors vary also.

ABOUT PAINTING IN GENERAL...
Each item takes (minimally) three layers of paint. Depending on the canvas or leather it could take more depending on the color, vintage, etc. So many variables! It is truly a labor of love for me and my two assistants. Granted…they don’t provide much actual painting assistance. At best, they clamor for biscuits or a pat on the head. Try as I might, they just can’t seem to hold a paint brush – must be that thumb thing! But they do offer tremendous moral support, along with a bark or two, while I paint the days away ;-)
